Verfahren zur Herstellung von Polyvinylchlorid oder Mischpolymerisaten des Vinylchlorids

Vinyl chloride polymers are made by polymerizing vinyl chloride alone, or in admixture with another monomer in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of an organometallic compound selected from an alkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl compound of a metal belonging to Group IIb, IIIa, or Vb of the Mendelaeeff Periodic System, and of an alpha-halogen-alkyl ether. The polymerization may be effected in bulk or in an organic solvent solution of the monomer. The ether may be alpha-, chloro- or bromo-diethyl ether, alpha, alpha1-dichlorodiethylether, alpha, beta-dichloro or dibromoethylether, or alpha, beta, beta1-tri-chlorodiethyl ether. The preferred organometallics are of the metals zinc, boron, aluminium, arsenic, or antimony.
