Zusammenfassung: | Alumina which has been precipitated in the presence of boric acid is heated to 800-1000 DEG C., cooled, and treated with aqueous H2O2. The material after heating is said to have formula 9Al2O3.ZB2O3. In the example alumina was precipitated by treating (a) an aluminium nitrate + formic acid solution, and (b) a boric acid + ammonia solution, with CO2, then mixing (a) and (b), followed by drying and calcining. The alumina was then covered with a 30% H2O2 solution, excess water was evaporated at 22 DEG C. over 24 hours, and the product was dried at 35 DEG C. |
