Zusammenfassung:The invention comprises sulphate-containing siloxanes of the formulae wherein R1 is Cl-6 alkyl radical or trialkylsilyl radical, at least 50% of R1 consisting of the latter, R is a monovalent hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon radical, M is an alkylene radical which bridges the silicon and oxygen atoms through at least three carbon atoms, each X is a hydrogen atom, or one equivalent of a metal or NHR13, wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon or substituted hydrocarbon radical; and x=0 to 1, y=2 to 3, z=1 to 10 and x+y=3. R is preferably an C1- 4 alkyl radical, and M is preferably (CH2)3 or (CH2)4. Specified X radicals are Na, K, Ca, Al, Zr and those derived from ammonia, hydrazine, amines, polyamines, alkanol amines, heterocyclic amines and quaternary ammonium compounds; many examples are given. Compounds of Formulae (I) and (II) are prepared by reacting an organo - silicon compound RxYySi(MOCOR)4-(x+y)with chlorosulphonic acid yielding a compound of the unit formula this is reacted with a hexa-alkyl disiloxane, R3SiOSiR3, and the R3SiY produced distilled off yielding SiRx(R3SiO)y(MO-SO2.OSiR3) which is further heated giving compounds of Formula (II). The products are subjected to hydrolysis or alcoholysis optionally followed by neutralization. A typical Example (1) describes the preparation of and the disiloxane obtained by replacing one (CH3)Si group by C2H5. Uses.-In lacquers and varnishes as spreading agents, antistatic agents, preventing glass fogging, wetting agent, in polyurethane foams, glass fibre finishing agents.
