A balanced modulated output is obtained by connecting a carrier and a modulation source in series to the emitter/base rectifier junction of a transistor with collector circuit tuned to an odd, e.g. third, harmonic of the carrier frequency. Odd harmonic is produced in proportion as the modulation reduces (or increases) the base portions of the carrier half-cycles otherwise produced in the output. Reaction of the output tuned circuit on the rectifier is avoided.
