ALSO: Polymers are prepared by condensing a polyoxyalkylene compound with a diepoxide of the formula:-R-(CH2)n-R where R is a 2;3-epoxypropoxy group and n is 1 to 4. Examples are given of the condensation of polyethylene glycol with 1;2-di(21;31-epoxypropoxy)ethane or 1;4-di(21;31-epoxypropoxy)butane by adding the epoxy compound to a heated mixture of the polyethylene glycol in aqueous potassium hydroxide in an atmosphere of nitrogen.
