Specified film-forming materials are polyacrylic and methacrylic acids, copolymers of acrylic-, methacrylic-, maleic-, or fumaric acid esters with acrylic-and methacrylic acids, maleic and fumaric acid semi-esters, polyvinyl alcohol, partially saponified copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, sulphonated polystyrene and polyacrylamide. polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyethylacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, polyamides, polyurethanes, polymeric caprolactam, nylons polyethylene, terephthalates polyaddition products of glycol and diisocyanates, gelatine, casein, and polyesters produced from dihydric alcohols and alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids (with liquid monomers, e.g. styrene, methyl methacrylate) which are then polymerised.
