Zusammenfassung: | 848,184. Oil-blast switches. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Nov. 27, 1958 [Dec. 6, 1957], No. 38268/58. Class 38 (5). A circuit-breaker is of the single terminal bushing type with a grounded intermediate support for the bushing and has a number of serially related gaps in alignment. A -central insulated rod 69 carries a movable contact member 70 for each break, contact fingers 90 being pressed by springs 96 to contact the moving contact and by further springs 96a to engage on the lower end of each moving contact member 70 when the breaker is closed. An annular nozzle 77 is provided at each break and a blast of fluid is forced therethrough on operation by a piston 72 on the moving contact assembly. A permanent magnet sleeve 79 sets up a radial field across each gap to help extinguish the arc. The whole of the contact assembly is screwed by a bayonet connection at the top for ready release. The fluid maybe SF 6 or SeF 6 and the sleeve 78 and nozzle 77 may be P.T.F.E. Current transformers may be arranged on each side of the grounded support. Specification 847,968 is referred to. |
