A curable composition comprises 100 part of a polymer oil derived from 25 to 100 weight per cent of a C4- 6 acyclic conjugated diolefin and 0 to 75 weight per cent of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon, and 1 to 15% of an alkyl borate or alkyl phosphate or an alkyl aluminate. Polybutadiene and butadiene-styrene copolymers are specified polymers which may be modified by a minor proportion (e.g. up to about 2%) of maleic, fumaric, thioglycolic, thiosalicylic, mercaptor phthalic, itaconic, mesaconic, citraconic and acrylic acids and their esters and anhydrides. The polymer oil may be blown with air or oxygen or reacted with an oxygen-containing compound before addition of the alkyl compound. Specified alkyl compounds are triamylborate,trioctylborate, tributyl phosphate, isopropyl aluminate and amyl aluminate. Alcohols e.g. methanol. n-butanol, isopropanol, isooctyl, n-amyl, and 2-ethyl hexanol may also be present. Specification 677,774 is referred to.
