The invention relates to a valve-actuating device (100) for actuating at least one valve of a reciprocating piston engine, having a first (210) and a second actuating lever (211) which are rotatably mounted about a common rotational axis (213), said first actuating lever (210) being connectable to the at least one valve such that an actuating movement is transmitted to the valve; two cams (214, 215) which are arranged on a shaft (216), said actuating levers (210, 211) detecting contours of the cams (214, 215); a mechanical coupling device (10) for connecting the actuating lever (210, 211), said coupling device having a blocking element (13B) which can be brought into two positions and being designed to transmit an actuating movement of the second actuating lever (211) to the first actuating lever (210) at least in the first position of the blocking element (13B); and a switching device (110) in order to switch the blocking element (13B) of the coupling device (10) between the positions, wherein the switching device (110) is designed such that a movement of the second actuating lever (211) mechanically triggers a position change of the blocking element (13B). The invention additionally relates to an internal combustion engine (101) comprising such a valve-actuating device (100).
