According to this method, a one-piece preform element made of glass is cast and/or molded and/or heated and/or provided, the one-piece preform element comprising a preform and a grip connected to the preform for handling the preform. After casting and/or after molding and/or after heating and/or after providing it the preform is precision-molded, in particular on both sides, between a first mold (UF) and at least a second mold (OF) to the optical element (OE2).
