A proposed adjustment system comprises - at least one detection device (K), which is designed to detect, in at least one detection zone (Z3) in the surroundings of the vehicle (F), at least one control event triggered by a person (N1, N2, N3) and to generate at least one detection signal (s3) depending on the presence of the control event, and - at least one motorised drive means (A), which is designed to adjust the adjustable part (H) in a manner actuated by external force, depending on the at least one detection signal (s3). The detection device (K) is also designed, in the at least one detection zone (Z3), to detect the orientation of at least one foot of the person (N2) relative to the adjustable part (H) to be adjusted in a manner actuated by external force and to generate the at least one detection signal (s3) depending on the detected orientation of the at least one foot of the person (N2).
