The invention relates to a power assembly (1) for a medium- or high-voltage converter (2), preferably a modular multi-level converter, comprising at least one power semiconductor assembly (5), at least one energy accumulator assembly (4), at least one cooling device (3), at least one auxiliary assembly (6) which has at least one signal preparation assembly (8), wherein the at least one power semiconductor assembly (5) and the at least one auxiliary assembly (6) are arranged in the vertical direction (14) on a respective upper (10) or underside (11) of the substantially horizontally oriented cooling device (3), and the at least one power semiconductor assembly (5) is arranged in a power semiconductor section (15) and the at least one auxiliary assembly (6) is arranged in an auxiliary section (16) within a protective housing (21) connected to the cooling device (3) and preferably designed as one part, wherein for explosion protection purposes, at least one partition (7), preferably composed at least in the vertical direction (14) of multiple partition elements (17), is formed between the cooling device (3) and the protective housing (21), and the at least one partition (7) has at least one through-opening (23) with a complementary shape to any power rails, (18) and/or control lines (19) and/or measuring lines (20).
