The invention relates to a sound engineering system (1) comprising a mixing console (2) provided with at least one audio interface (9, 10) with electrical contacts (16), at least one audio source (3, 4), and at least one audio cable (7) for electrically connecting the at least one audio source (3, 4) to the at least one audio interface (9, 10) of the mixing console (2). The at least one audio cable (7) comprises a first plug-in connector (14) with electrical mating contacts (17), which forms a first plug-in connection (15) with the at least one audio interface (9, 10). The first plug-in connection (15) comprises a magnetic lock (18) and is designed such that the electrical contacts (16) of the audio interface (9, 10) contact the electrical mating contacts (17) of the first plug-in connector (14) on the front side.
