Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method and device that are used to produce green tires. At least one strip-shaped material is fed to at least one tire building drum. At least one side strip (4, 5) is connected to a belt strip (3) before a length cut. The combination of the belt strip and the at least one side strip is laterally aligned using at least one camera (8). The camera detects a step (12, 13) in the transition from the belt strip to the side strip.
