Synthetic resin coating compositions contain as flowing agents, in amount of less than 5% by weight of the whole composition, a liquid siloxane of the general formula wherein n is a whole number, m is zero or a whole number and R1, R11 and R111 are monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, R111 being phenyl when m is not zero. In examples a siloxane of the formula was added to a mixture of (1) a clear polyester consisting of the condensation product of ethylene dicarboxylic acid and a mixture of trimethylol propane and ethylene, diethylene and 1,3-butylene glycols, styrene, cyclohexanone peroxide and cobalt naphthenate, and (2) white spirit, dipentene, decahydronaphthalene, a medium oil length soya alkyd resin, titania, zinc oxide and Co, Pb and Mn naphthenates; (3) as in (1) except that the siloxane is replaced by For comparative purposes similar compositions, but containing convention siloxane oils, are disclosed.
