A crystal-stabilized transistor oscillator 1 is amplitude modulated by a series-connected modulator transistor 20, its output passing in series through the base to collector path of the oscillator 1. The oscillator transistor may be of point contact type with tuned circuit 2, 3 and stabilizing crystal 13. The modulator transistor 20 may be of junction type with grounded emitter, as shown, or grounded base. The modulation input may be pre-amplified by a further grounded emitter transistor 30.
