Zusammenfassung:A device (100) for measuring at least one scientific value, especially the pH of a medium, includes sensor apparatus (110) outputing a signal representing the measured value, an operable measuring device (120) that acquires and processes the sensor signal corresponding to the currently used mode of operation. A recording device (130) conforming to a certificated standard is used to record the processed sensor signals for a time corresponding to a certified recording mode. The certificated recording device (130) is installed in a housing, preferably a cabinet (200) and the certified recording device (130) is operable from outside of the cabinet. The certified recording device (130) is configured to allow operation of the measuring device (120) by an authorised person with the protection of the certification standard, preferably with the use of a log-in password. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an the measuring device.
