Zusammenfassung:In order to trigger a process for moderating the speed of an electric fan motor (EFM) (10) in a motor vehicle, a first switching device (18) connected to the EFM in series is opened and a second switching device (22) connected in parallel to the EFM is closed. A motor vehicle's battery supplies power to the EFM with a reference potential/earth (12) and a supply potential/12 volts (14). An independent claim is also included for a device for moderating the speed of an electric fan motor in a motor vehicle. Vorgestellt wird ein Verfahren zum Abbremsen eines elektrischen Gebläsemotors 10, vorzugsweise eines elektrischen Gebläsemotors 10 in einem Kraftfahrzeug, und eine entsprechende Vorrichtung dafür. Zur Einleitung des Abbremsvorgangs wird zumindest ein erstes, in Reihe zu dem Gebläsemotor geschaltetes Schaltmittel 18 geöffnet und ein weiteres, parallel zu dem Gebläsemotor geschaltetes Schaltmittel 22 geschlossen.
