Zusammenfassung:	Recovering a pharmacological agent (A) from Artemisia annua by high-pressure extraction with carbon dioxide at 60-85 bar and 20-50 [deg]C, is new. Recovering a pharmacological agent (A) from Artemisia annua comprises: (a) grinding the above ground parts of the plant to powder; (b) subjecting this to high-pressure extraction (HDE) with CO 2 for recovery of artemisin (I); (c) isolating (I) from the purified extract mixture; and (d) preparing, from (I), a solution for use in preparation of liquid dosage forms. The new feature is that extraction is at 60-85 bar and 20-50 [deg]C. ACTIVITY : Antimalarial; Cytostatic; Anti-HIV; Nephrotropic; Litholytic. No biological data given.
