Zusammenfassung:	Engine regulating system comprises a NOx catalyst unit (13) containing ammonia as a reducing agent arranged in an exhaust gas system of an I.C. engine to selectively reduce NOx from the exhaust gases, a reducing agent feed line (14) for introducing reducing agent to the exhaust gas system and positioned on the flow side of the NOx catalyst, sensors (15, 22) for detecting the amount of NOx in the exhaust gas, a fuel injection system for injecting fuel into the I.C. engine in a main injection mode, and a regulating unit (12) for activating the fuel injection system in a pilot and main injection mode when a NOx degree of purity emitted is not more than a predetermined NOx degree of purity.
