The acoustic insulation, to absorb noise and especially in motor vehicles, has a shaped body (1) of a thermoplastic material and at least one further component (2) which defines a hollow zone (7) with the body. The second component is a heavy layer, a nonwoven and/or an acoustic textile fabric. A number of pins or spikes at the body project into the hollow zone to form spacers (4) against the second part. The outer surface of the body has a number of depressions (6), each extending into a spacer. The body is shaped by deep drawing a thermoplastic film, with a mounting flange (3) around it, to give a cassette structure.. Die Erfindung betrifft einen Schall-Absorber, insbesondere für Kraftfahrzeuge, mit einem Formteil (1) aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff und mindestens einem zweiten Teil (2), das mit dem Formteil (1) einen Hohlraum (7) begrenzt. Um zu erreichen, dass ein solcher Schall-Absorber bei gleicher oder verbesserter akustischer Wirksamkeit eine gute Medienbeständigkeit sowie eine hohe Wärmestandfestigkeit aufweist, wird vorgeschlagen, an dem Formteil (1) eine Vielzahl von stift- oder dornförmigen, in den Hohlraum (7) vorstehenden, auf das zweite Teil (2) zu gerichteten Abstandhaltern (4) auszubilden, wobei das Formteil (1) außenseitig mit einer Vielzahl von Vertiefungen (6) versehen wird, die sich jeweils in einen Abstandhalter (4) erstrecken.
