The axial and radial bearings for the drive shaft are combined in the block into a commonly mounted/removable unit The device consists of a housing (6) bounding a drive mechanism chamber (7), a cylinder block (2), a cylinder head and a drive shaft (1) for connection to an external drive, that has its end within the housing in the cylinder block and that is radially and axially supported and coupled to a piston (3) movable reciprocally in the block, especially via an inclined plate or wobble plate mechanism. The axial and radial bearings (9,10) for the drive shaft are combined within the cylinder block to form a commonly mounted/removable unit (18).
