Zusammenfassung:The engine has a cylinder housing (20) with cylinder bank (23) and crankcase (30), and stiffeners (40). The stiffeners are at least partially located parallel to planes, in which extend the torsional stresses introduced into the crankcase during engine running. The stiffeners are formed by hollow profiles (42) integral with the outside of the engine housing (1). The profiles form guide channels and/or may be connected to create a network for a flowing medium. Engine oil returning from a cylinder head and/or a turbocharger is fed by the hollow profiles and an oil guide device, into a collection vessel under the crankcase. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Zylindergehäuse (20) mit einer vergrößerten Zylinderbank (23). Am Motorgehäuse (1) sind Versteifungen (40) vorgesehen, die in Richtung der während des Betriebs eingeleiteten Torsionsspannungen verlaufen. Die Versteifungen (40) sind aus Rippen (41) und Hohlprofilen (42) gebildet und stützen die vergrößerte Zylinderbank (23) von unten ab.
