Zusammenfassung:Aqueous emulsions containing an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and a non-ionic surfactant of the polyoxyalkylene type (I) comprising 1-10 parts by weight (pts. wt.) polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether and 0.01 pt. wt. or less of a polyoxyalkylene phenyl ether to 100 pts. wt. vinyl ester units in the copolymer. Independent claims are also included for: (a) products obtained by drying these emulsions; and (b) a method for the production of these emulsions by emulsion copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl ester in presence of (I). Eine wässrige Emulsion mit ausgezeichneter Wasserbeständigkeit, umfassend ein durch Polymerisation von Ethylen und Vinylester erhältliches Copolymer und ein nichtionisches grenzflächenaktives Mittel des Polyoxyalkylentyps, wobei das nichtionische grenzflächenaktive Mittel des Polyoxyalkylentyps 1 bis 10 Gew.-Teile Polyoxyalkylenalkylether und 0,01 Gew.-Teile oder weniger Polyoxyalkylenphenylether, bezogen auf 100 Gew.-Teile der Vinylestereinheiten im Copolymer, umfasst, wird bereitgestellt.
