The testing procedure involves sealing all connections to the outside and pressurizing with air. The pressure is monitored over a period, with a drop in the pressure denoting a leak through pores in the casting. A fluid is introduced with the pressurized air as an aerosol. The fluid may harden in air and is driven into the pores of the casting, where it stops the leaks.
