Die Erfindung betrifft ein Halbeitermodulsystem mit einem Halbleitermodul (10) und einem Schutzdeckel (20). Das Halbleitermodul (10) weist eine Unterseite (10b) mit einer Wärmeableitfläche (11) auf, sowie eine der Unterseite (10b) entgegengesetzte Oberseite (10t), die in einer vertikalen Richtung (v) von der Unterseite (10b) beabstandet ist. Der Schutzdeckel (20) ist derart unverlierbar an dem Halbleitermodul (10) montierbar, dass die Oberseite (10t) im montierten Zustand frei liegt und der Schutzdeckel (20) die Wärmeableitfläche (11) überdeckt. Durch den Schutzdeckel (20) kann ein auf die Wärmeableitfläche (11) aufgetragenes Wärmeübergangsmaterial (50) geschützt werden.
