The device has a guide unit (12) provided in a seat unit (14). A bearing unit (16) adjusts a bottom seat back angle (18). A timing generator (20) partly synchronizes setting of the bottom seat back angle along movement of the guide unit. A guide element (22) is fixed with an arc shaped portion and provided with a partial arcuate outer contour. The guide element extends along a bottom seat portion (24) and a seat back region (26). Closure gear boxes (28) are fixed with the seat unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a vehicle seat guide device.
