Use of metal phosphates, alone or as a mixture of at least two different metal phosphates or as production-related mixture of metal phosphates as a moisture regulator for producing a moisture-regulating material, where the moisture regulator is finely divided, dispersed or dissolved in a polymer matrix or a polymerizing or curing paint, is claimed. The metal phosphates are orthophosphates, hydrogen phosphates, dihydrogen phosphates, diphosphates, pyrophosphates, tripolyphosphates or highly condensed phosphates having an average chain length of from 3-50 of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, iron, copper, aluminum, manganese, zinc and/or tin. An independent claim is included for the moisture-regulating material comprising a matrix material of a polymer matrix or a polymerizing or curing paint in which the metal phosphates, alone or as a mixture of at least two different metal phosphates or as production-related mixture of metal phosphates, are finely divided, dispersed or dissolved as the moisture regulator. Verwendung von Metallphosphaten, einzeln oder als Gemisch von wenigstens zwei verschiedenen Metallphosphaten oder als herstellungsbedingte Mischung von Metallphosphaten als Feuchteregulator für die Herstellung eines Feuchte regulierenden Matrixmaterials, wobei der Feuchteregulator in einer Polymermatrix oder einem polymerisierenden oder aushärtenden Lack fein verteilt, dispergiert oder gelöst vorliegt und wobei die Metallphosphate unter Orthophosphaten (PO4)3-, Hydrogenphosphaten (HPO4)2-, Dihydrogenphosphaten (H2PO4)-, Diphosphaten (P2O7)4- (Pyrophosphaten), Tripolyphosphaten (P3O10)5- oder höher kondensierten Phosphaten mit einer mittleren Kettenlänge von 3 bis 50 der Alkalimetalle, der Erdalkalimetalle, von Eisen (Fe), Kupfer (Cu), Aluminium (Al), Mangan (Mn), Zink (Zn) oder Zinn (Sn) oder Kombinationen der genannten Metalle ausgewählt sind.
