The device has housing (11) in which a capsule holder (17) and a closure portion are supported. The capsule holder and/or closure portion are moved into a preparation position by a drive unit (A). One rotational axis of the capsule holder is movably fed in the region of side walls (12,13) of the housing. Other rotational axis (21) of the capsule holder is guided on each side wall in guide slot (24) such that the movement of the capsule holder in the preparation position is controlled.
