The exhaust silencer (1) has an exhaust pipe (3) in a housing (2), where multiple openings (5) are formed in the wall of the exhaust pipe. A damping filler (8) made of damping material is formed on outer surface of the exhaust pipe, where an enclosed resonant cavity is radially arranged between the outside of the damping filler and the inside of the housing outer wall at a distance. The resonant cavity is divided into individual resonance chambers by partition walls, where the resonance chambers have different volumes. Ein Abgasschalldämpfer weist in einem Gehäuse ein Abgasrohr auf, wobei auf die Mantelfläche des Abgasrohrs, in das Öffnungen eingebracht sind, ein Dämpfungsfüllkörper aus Dämpfungsmaterial aufgebracht ist. Die Außenseite des Dämpfungsfüllkörpers liegt radial auf Abstand zur Innenseite der Gehäuseaußenwand, so dass zwischen Dämpfungsfüllkörper und Gehäuseaußenwand ein Resonanzraum liegt.
