Zusammenfassung:	The filter device (10) has a cylindrical filter element (34) that is provided for retaining the particles from the medium. The cylindrical filter element is provided with an elongated contour mold whose end regions are formed in the shape of semi-circle. An intermediate region is formed between the end regions of elongated contour mold. The circular-cylindrical connectors (50,52) are provided for connecting filter element to filter housings (12,14). Bei einer Filtervorrichtung (10) für ein Kraftstoffversorgungssystem zum Filtern eines fluiden Mediums mit einem zylindrischen Filterelement (34) zum Zurückhalten von Partikeln aus dem Medium ist das zylindrische Filterelement (34) im Querschnitt betrachtet mit einer länglichen Umrissform (42) gestaltet, deren beiden Endbereiche (44, 46) abgerundet sind.
