Es werden expandierbare Polystyrolkügelchen, die Infrarotabschwächer enthalten, beschrieben, sowie Verfahren zu deren Herstellung durch Suspensionspolymerisation mit verbesserter Verteilung der resultierenden Polystyrol-Teilchengröße. Die Polystyrolkügelchen mit Infrarotabschwächern können verwendet werden, um Schäume mit verbesserten Isoliereigenschaften herzustellen.
