The object (10) e.g. drinking straw (10a), has a casing (16a) comprising a pH-sensitive area (20a) with pH-indicative material (22) i.e. anthocyanin, that temporarily displays actual pH-value of the surrounding of the sensitive area when the material stays in contact with beverage. A body fastened to the casing is arranged within the casing. The material is formed as an intermediate layer between a substrate side and a covering. The covering holds the intermediate layer that is designed in a laminar or structured manner. The pH-sensitive area has a reservoir with a proton-permeable covering.
