The test system has a selection unit (21) for automatic selection of a subset (30) of two sensor units (31-35) depending on a predetermined condition or a condition that is generated during an operation of an adaptive data processing system (10). The adaptive data processing system is coupled with the sensor units. A test unit (50) provides data as replacement for the subset of the sensor unit. A non-predetermined relationship exists between input data (11) and output data (12A, 12B) of the adaptive data processing system. An independent claim is also included for a test method for an adaptive data processing system that is a part of a telecommunications system.
