The system has a driving device (2) driving a bumper (1), and a control device (3) e.g. airbag control device, controlling the driving device. The control device is provided depending on danger situation of the driving device. The control device considers reference speed for adjusting the bumper, where adjustment of the bumper does not take place during falling below critical speed by the reference speed. The reference speed is vehicle speed (4) or relative velocity between a vehicle and an object. A distance sensor (5) detects the danger situation or the relative speed.
