The audio trainer has a display unit (2) partially made of a transparent material, and LED light sources (4) arranged adjacent to or within the transparent material in a concealed manner. The light sources emit light with different colors, where the colors are correspondingly assigned to preset noise level and/or vocal level or determined values. The transparent material has light conducting characteristics. The assignment of the colors is manually or automatically changed. An independent claim is also included for a noise level indicating method for displaying noise and/or vocal level of a communication partner. Steuerung bzw. Regelung und Training von Kommunikationsvorgängen durch eine Zuordnung von Farben und Symbolen zu bestimmten Geräuschpegeln und/oder Stimmpegeln. In einer besonders vorteilhaften Ausführung der Erfindung sind diese Zuordnungen von Farben und Symbolen zu Geräuschpegeln und/oder charakteristischen Geräuschsituationen manuell oder mittels einer Computersoftware veränderbar.
