The drum (1) has a structure (9) projecting inward from a base (3) to a basin (5), where the inward projecting structure has a shape of a collar that continues from the base to the basin. The base, the basin and the collar are formed as a single piece, where the drum is made of wood, glass fiber, aluminum cast or ceramic. A cylindrical section is movable in the basin, and the structure and/or the collar are adapted to a shape of the drum. The structure or the collar is inserted into the drum in a self-centered manner. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Trommel, insbesondere eine Trommel mit einer innen liegenden Taille. Eine solche Djembe 1 umfasst einen Fuß 3, einen Kessel 5 und ein Trommelfell 7. Gemäß der Erfindung ragt zusätzlich von dem Fuß 3 eine Struktur 9 in den Kessel 5. Diese kragenförmige Struktur 9 setzt den Fuß 3 in den Kessel 5 hinein fort. Durch diese Maßnahme wird, vermutlich infolge einer veränderten Helmholtz-Resonanz, die Grundfrequenz des Basstons herabgesetzt.
