The device (100) has a communication unit (110) for receiving synchronization information from a set of data processing devices and for sending the information to the set of devices. A controller (120) configures a synchronous time base for communication with the set of devices based on transmission of the received information or generated synchronization information. An indicator generating device (130) generates an indicator that indicates whether the information is generated by a master data processing device. The communication unit sends the indicator with the synchronization information. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for communication with a data processing device (2) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for communication with a data processing device. Ferner weist die Datenverarbeitungsvorrichtung (100) eine Steuereinrichtung (120) auf, die ausgebildet ist, um mit anderen Datenverarbeitungsvorrichtungen eine synchrone Zeitbasis zur Kommunikation aufzubauen, wobei die Steuereinrichtung (120) ferner ausgebildet ist, um die synchrone Zeitbasis, basierend auf einer Weiterleitung empfangener Synchronisationsinformation oder basierend auf generierter Synchronisationsinformation aufzubauen. Die Datenverarbeitungsvorrichtung (100) weist ferner eine Einrichtung (130) zum Erzeugen eines Indikators auf, der anzeigt, ob eine Synchronisationsinformation von einer Masterdatenverarbeitungsvorrichtung generiert wurde, wobei die Kommunikationseinrichtung (110) ausgebildet ist, um den Indikator mit einer Synchronisationsinformation zu senden.
