Zusammenfassung:	The method involves separating a molded part i.e. sheet metal part (1), from a raw material along a separation edge (3). The separation edge is structured in a wave-shape over a section of its longitudinal extension. Height (h) of individual wave crests (5) and/or depth (t) of individual wave valleys (6) of the separation edge is dimensioned based on a certain criteria i.e. dynamic loads of the molded part. Wavelength (lambda) of a section of the separation edge is dimensioned based on other criteria. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a molded part. Bei einem Verfahren zur Herstellung von Formstücken (1) wird das Formstück (1) entlang einer Trennkante (3) von einem Ausgangsmaterial getrennt. Erfindungsgemäß wird die Trennkante (3) wenigstens über einen Abschnitt ihrer Längserstreckung strukturiert, insbesondere wellenförmig ausgestaltet.
