The device has a bed surrounding chamber with an air supply unit e.g. pump (6), and an air outlet unit e.g. valve. The air pressure is dynamically adjusted to be below a level of air supplied to a couch surface of a bed (4) and above the level of air conducted from the couch surface of the bed through air outlet openings. The chamber is formed as a metal frame hollow body with plates, where the bed surrounding chamber is sealed with respect to an air slippage. The chamber has a flap (2) that serves as a safety device that opens on exceeding a minimum excess air pressure.
