The head has a handle (1) captured and held by an infant. The handle is provided with a set of components having measured value collections. A part of one of the measured value collections is determined by a retainer (2) for providing a contact to back of hands press of a patient. The retainer is connected to the handle by a spring-loaded joint, so that a functional unit is offered by the grip. The handle, retainer and joint are manufactured as one piece, and a component received for data collection is inserted into the handle. Beschrieben wird ein Sensorkopf vorzugsweise zur Anwendung in der Diagnostik in der Neugeborenen- und Säuglingsmedizin. Ein derart gestalteter Sensorkopf liefert bei der genannten Personengruppe schnelle und stabile Messergebnisse, weil er den angeborenen Greifreflex zur Kontaktierung des Patienten nutzt.
