The method involves providing a complete specification model (3) of the field devices or a field device type in a transformation phase on the basis of a device description (GS1,GS2) which describes the field device or the field device type in its functionality. An independent claim is included for a device for executing a method for integrating field device of automation technique in higher control structures or in target applications. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Integration eines Feldgeräts (F1, F2,...) der Automatisierungstechnik in beliebige übergeordnete Steuerstrukturen (WS1, WS2, BE) oder in beliebige Zielanwendungen, wobei in einer ersten Transformationsphase anhand von zumindest einer Gerätebeschreibung (GS1, GS2,...) die das Feldgerät bzw. den Feldgerätetyp (F1, F2,...) in seiner Funktionalität beschreibt, ein vollständiges Beschreibungsmodell 3 des Feldgeräts bzw. des Feldgerätetyps (F1, F2,...) bereitgestellt wird, und wobei die in dem vollständigen Beschreibungsmodell (3) enthaltene Information in einer zweiten Transformationsphase in ein beliebiges Integrationsmittel (IM1, IM2,...) zur Integration des Feldgeräts (F1, F2,...) in eine ausgewählte übergeordnete Steuerstruktur (WS1, WS2, BE) oder in eine ausgewählte Zielanwendung transformiert wird.
