The carrier has a bag-like retaining box (22) with a lower shell fastened to a rear flap (12) of a motor vehicle (10) i.e. car. An upper shell is pivotable opposite to a lower shell and is arranged at an inner side of a retaining device for a wheel of a bicycle. The retaining device has two pairs of retaining rails storing the wheel of the bicycle, where the retaining device is pivotable from a rest position to a retaining position. The upper shell is attached to the lower shell over a multi-joint mechanics i.e. four-joint mechanics. Es wird ein Fahrradträger zur Befestigung am Heck eines Kraftfahrzeugs vorgeschlagen, mit einer kofferartigen Aufnahmebox (22), die eine Unterschale (34), die an einer Heckklappe (12) des Kraftfahrzeugs (10) befestigbar ist, und eine Oberschale (36) umfasst, die gegenüber der Unterschale (34) verschwenkbar ist und an deren Innenseite eine Aufnahmeeinrichtung für mindestens ein Laufrad eines Fahrrads angeordnet ist.
