Zusammenfassung:	The method involves determining a measure for chemical and/or physical characteristics e.g. ignitability and/or through burning rate, of fuel from a distance between an injection and a combustion position characteristic. A control start of the injection is adjusted by a regulation, where the control start represents the distance between the injection and the combustion position characteristic. A parameter of a corrective action for regulation of a reference combustion condition is used as the measure for the chemical and/or physical characteristics of the fuel. An independent claim is also included for a computer program with a program code for determination of chemical and/or physical characteristics of fuel for a diesel internal-combustion engine. Verfahren zur Bestimmung von chemischen und/oder physikalischen Eigenschaften eines Kraftstoffes für eine Diesel-Brennkraftmaschine, wobei die Brennkraftmaschine eine Einrichtung zur Ermittelung der Verbrennungslage umfasst, wobei aus dem Abstand zwischen einer Einspritzung und einem Verbrennungslagemerkmal ein Maß für die chemischen und/oder physikalischen Eigenschaften des Kraftstoffes, insbesondere Zündwilligkeit und/oder Durchbrenngeschwindigkeit, ermittelt wird.
