The reactor is dimensioned so that the retention time is enough for the destruction of organic impurities. The device for the purification of waste sulfuric acid, comprises a reactor (R) in which organic impurities in the waste sulfuric acid are removed through the treatment of high temperature and addition of oxidation agent, a circulation pump (P) made of corrosion resistant material, vertically or horizontally arranged heat exchangers (W) having inner tube (i) and outer tube (a), and metering places and/or connection pipelines. The reactor is dimensioned so that the retention time is enough for the destruction of organic impurities. High temperature heat carrier oils are used as a heating medium. The inner tube is poured out of silicon containing cast steel with silicon content of 14-18%, which is introduced as a material for the acid dampened portion of the heat exchanger. Melts are supplied into a vertically arranged mold. The tube is cooled to 12-36 hours in the mold after the pouring. Sealing takes place in the heat exchanger between inner and outer tubes by seals, which are resistant against the high temperature heat carrier oil and the operation temperature of the oil up to 350[deg]C. The heat exchangers are turned parallelly and in row. The flow velocity of the acid in the inner tube is reached between 1-5 m/s. The device is operated in a pressure of 10 mbar -10 bar. The heat carrier oil is pumped in reverse flow or in direct flow into the acid at a pressure of 6-10 bar. The resulting exhaust gas, steam volatile organic compounds and decomposition product at a position are delivered from the device.
