A porous material with very low thermal conductivity and high thermal shock resistance in the casing of the device is used. The transporting of heat by repeated reflection of the thermal radiation on the internal large surface of the porous material is prevented. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur optischen Beobachtung von heißen Zonen in Feuerräumen, Öfen und anderen Prozessräumen mit hoher Temperatur. Die vorliegende Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass hochwertige, kontrastreichen Bilder erzeugt werden, ohne signifikante Störung der Prozessräume bei niedrigstem möglichem Energieverlust aus der heißen Zone durch das Beobachtungssystem.
