The device has two lighting units (1,2). The print image is illuminated by the lighitng unit with bright field light and other unit lighting unit with dark field light. The two lighting units are formed by selectively activated lighting units. The lighting units are activated and deactivated by a control device (10) in dependance of a signal delivered from the sensor (7), which is fixed by positioning the area of the print images. An independent claim is also included for the method for recording of print image on a continuous material. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Aufnehmen eines Druckbildes auf einer laufenden Materialbahn mittels einer Kamera, wobei das Druckbild durch eine erste Beleuchtungseinrichtung mit Hellfeld-Beleuchtung und durch eine zweite Beleuchtungseinrichtung mit Dunkelfeld-Beleuchtung beleuchtet wird, sodass die beiden Beleuchtungseinrichtungen durch selektiv ansteuerbare Leuchteinheiten ausgebildet sind und die Leuchteinheiten durch eine Steuereinrichtung selektiv aktiviert und deaktiviert werden in Abhängigkeit von den von einem Sensor abgegebenen Signalen, durch die die Position von Bereichen des Druckbildes feststellbar ist.
