The wastewater purification mechanism comprises an aeration basin (2), in which the water-sludge-mixture (3) to be treated is staggered with oxygen, and a post clarification basin (3) to which the sludge water mixture from the aeration basin is supplied connected downstream to the aeration basin. The sludge-water-mixture is separated into cleared water and water-containing back sludge (10) fed back to the aeration basin. To the aeration basin and/or to the post clarification basin a centrifugal separator (20) is connected downstream.
