Zusammenfassung: | A method for checking a casing tube (27) of an irradiated fuel rod (26) involves extracting at least one piece (80) of the casing tube within a nuclear power station. An independent claim is included for apparatus for extracting a piece from a casing tube (27) of an irradiated fuel rod (26), comprising (a) a processing chamber with an opening for introduction of at least one region (including a plenum) of the fuel rod and (b) at least one device projecting into the processing chamber for introducing an opening into the casing tube.
