Zusammenfassung: | The medical appliance has a radiation source (2), from which a radiation dose can be emitted, by means of which the growth of micro-organisms in the form of mould inside the appliance can be blocked. The radiation source may be located inside the appliance, or located on the outside, and this has a beam waveguide through which the radiation dose can be guided into the inside of the appliance. A UV-C radiation is emitted from the radiation source, the wave length of which is in the region of 200 nm to 280 nm. An independent claim is included for a method for blocking growth of micro-organisms by application of the medical appliance according to the invention.
